Charter Cities Resolution Passed in Assembly & Senate

September 15, 2003 - The California Senate and State Assembly passed a critical resolution in favor of the payment of prevailing wages by charter cities.

Sponsored by Senate President Pro Tem John Burton (D-San Francisco), the resolution makes it clear that the legislature intends for charter cities to pay prevailing wages on all projects over $1,000.

The resolution passed the Senate by a 24 to 14 vote, and passed the Assembly by a 49 to 28 vote.
