One Day - Three Big Victories For
San Bernardino/Riverside BTC!
Riverside County Board of Supervisors
By a 4-1 vote, the board defeated a proposed ordinance to permanently ban the use of PLAs on county construction projects.
Riverside Community College District
The district's Board of Trustees approved a five-year, $200 million dollar PLA for the construction of college facilities with Measure C funds.
San Bernardino City Unified School District
Despite a hostile staff report, seemingly drafted directly from anti-union CFEC talking points, the district's trustees voted unanimously against the report's recommendations, and in favor of moving forward with consideration of PLAs for future construction projects. Inland Congregations United for Change strongly supported PLAs in the district.
Strong advocacy by members of the San Bernardino/Riverside BTC and the San Bernardino Labor Council were instrumental in the victories.
