Who We Are

California Unions for Reliable Energy (CURE) is a coalition of unions whose members help solve the State's energy problems by building, maintaining and operating conventional and renewable energy power plants. Since our founding in 1997, CURE has been equally committed to building a strong economy and a healthier environment. We provide California with reliable energy and power plant jobs while protecting the state's air, land and water from pollution.

We have a deep and vested interest in making sure California power plants use the best and latest clean technology available because we work and raise our families in the same communities where these plants operate. Our commitment to clean energy power plants has helped keep communities with power plants safe from pollution. Over the years, we've helped cut smog pollution in half, reduced toxic emissions, increased the use of recycled water for cooling systems and pushed for groundbreaking pollution control equipment as the standard for all new power plants.
