IMPORTANT NOTICE

The built project was funded by the California’s Tobacco Tax Fund (Proposition 99) from 1999-2007, and in that time, developed numerous resources about cessation and prevention of tobacco use by construction and blue collar workers.  Many of these materials are still available in hard copy through the Tobacco Education Clearinghouse of California (TECC):  www.tobaccofreecatalog.org  (search for “union”).

We are pleased to have received funding from Pfizer to update the website and select materials.  Please contact us at [email protected] if you have any questions.

Tobacco Companies say the strangest things!

It's summer! School's out and the kids are looking for things to do. Sometimes kids can see and be outraged by the same things that adults have gotten used to. That's one reason the youth anti-tobacco sites are fun. The folks who brought us www.thetruth.com now present a new campaign that encourages people to question some of the outrageous things the tobacco companies say.

Tobacco company documents used "zephyr" as a code word for cancer. What's up with that? A tobacco company vice-president wondered if we should ban sleep since most people died in their sleep. HUH!?! www.whudafxup.com is the website for this campaign. It is interactive, fun, and provocative. Everything a good youth website should be.
