The built project was funded by the California’s Tobacco Tax Fund (Proposition 99) from 1999-2007, and in that time, developed numerous resources about cessation and prevention of tobacco use by construction and blue collar workers.  Many of these materials are still available in hard copy through the Tobacco Education Clearinghouse of California (TECC):  (search for “union”).

During the Holidays we think of being together with family. After her father died of lung cancer shortly after they were both able to quit smoking, supermodel Christy Turlington turned her talents and energy to fighting the tobacco industry.

Her website,, tells the story of her own battle with cigarettes and the death of her father. It also provides information and links to resources for quitting. Christy emphasizes women's health issues throughout her website.
