The built project was funded by the California’s Tobacco Tax Fund (Proposition 99) from 1999-2007, and in that time, developed numerous resources about cessation and prevention of tobacco use by construction and blue collar workers.  Many of these materials are still available in hard copy through the Tobacco Education Clearinghouse of California (TECC):  (search for “union”).

We are pleased to have received funding from Pfizer to update the website and select materials.  Please contact us at [email protected] if you have any questions.

Unfiltered reality on Outrage Avenue -

Cruise down Outrage Avenue and check out the shops. From "Survivor" to "Temptation Island" reality based shows are the hot TV trend. Since tobacco is a temptation few survive, it shouldn't be a surprise that a reality show was developed about people trying to quit. The surprise is that it was done by teens and sponsored by the Washington State Department of Health. You can see"Unfiltered" at This is a fun, and yet very serious, interactive web site for teens. They present lots of information--outrageously, like the "dead guys" in the Doane Starrt mausoleum or the body parts at the free clinic. Be sure to stop at "Boys Under the Hood" where you can customize your car (don't forget to read the owners manual in the glove box).

This site is quite high-tech and may not be fully accessible from all computers. (It does require you to download the Flash 5 Player, provided free.)
